    Iran’s major stock index plummets 13,870 points

    (MENAFN) On Sunday, TEDPIX, Iran’s benchmark stock index of Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE), dropped 13,870 points to reach 1.291 million. As stated, more than 4.547 billion securities that value 30.411 trillion rials (about USD104.8 million) were exchanged at the stock market.

    The first index of the market plummeted 12,582 points, and the second index of the market fell 20,321 points. TEDPIX plunged 56,000 points (4.3 percent) to 1.293 million during the previous Iranian calendar week (ended on Friday).

    In last week, the largely followed indices were of Mobarakeh Steel Corporation, Iran Khodro Corporation, Social Security Investment Corporation, National Copper Corporation, and Barekat Pharmaceutical Group.

    According to the head of Iran’s Securities and Exchange Organization (SEO) Majid Eshqi statement, a 10-part financial package has been arranged for backing the stock exchange and Finance and Economic Affairs Minister Ehsan Khandouzi will reveal the financial set shortly.
