Turkish external assets amount at USD306.8b in Oct.

(MENAFN) Based on data published by the Turkish Central Bank on Monday, the country’s external assets amounted at USD306.8 billion towards the end of October, increasing by 20 percent from the end of the previous year.

Liabilities against non-citizens dropped to 12.1 percent to reach USD562.5 billion during the corresponding time span.

The net international investment position (NIIP), the gap between the nation’s overseas assets and liabilities, plummeted to less than USD255.7 billion two months ago, versus minus USD384.7 billion towards the end of last year.

Showing a snapshot in time, the NIIP, which can be either positive or negative, is the worth of external assets possessed by a country, minus the worth of national assets owned by non-nationals, involving foreign assets and liabilities held by a nation’s government, the private field, and its locals.
