    Turkish major stock index starts week at 2,007.04 points

    (MENAFN) Turkey’s major stock index started the week at 2,007.04 points on Monday, lower by 77.43 points, or 3.71 percent, from the last end.

    On Friday, the BIST 100 index fell significantly by 8.52 percent to end the week at 2,084.47 points, with an everyday trading capacity of 77 billion Turkish liras (USD4.7 billion).

    The US dollar/Turkish lira trade rate increased to 17.2970 on 9.30 a.m. domestic time (0630GMT), in comparison with 16.8030 at the last ending.

    The euro/lira trading rate soared to 19.4810 from 18.9880, whereas a British pound exchanged for 22.8090 liras, jumping from 22.4270. moreover, Brent crude oil was sold for about USD71.3 for a barrel on 10 a.m. domestic time.
