Turkey’s tourism industry intends to exceed its profits of pre-pandemic levels

(MENAFN) Turkey intends to attain robust growth in tourism the upcoming year, surpassing its profits level before the pandemic.

According to Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy statement in an exclusive interview with Anadolu Agency, "I predict that tourism will bounce back through this May and the V-shaped recovery we saw this year will continue in 2022."

Pushing the nation's aim for a V-shaped rebound in tourism in 2021 even as it has been struck intensely by the Covid-19 pandemic, Ersoy stated: "We managed to achieve our ambitious and challenging target this year with doubling our tourism revenue to $24 billion."

The most recent figures from the Tourism Ministry demonstrated that the nation accommodated 22.8 million overseas travelers in the first 11 months of the year, increasing by 89.6 percent from the corresponding time span the previous year.
