    Turkish production capacity jumps this month

    (MENAFN) According to Turkish official data published on Monday, the capacity utilization rate (CUR) of the country’s production industry jumped on a monthly basis during this month.

    Based on a Turkish Central Bank survey, the rate climbed by 0.6 percentage points to hit 78.6 percent in December, in comparison to the month that precedes it. Amongst the major industrial groups, the highest CUR stood at 80.3 percent for intermediate commodities, while the lowest amounted at 73.3 percent for durable consumer commodities.

    On the sectoral part, the uppermost capacity usage was in the production of wood and wood/cork goods, leaving out furniture, at 84.9 percent in December, while the lowest was in leather manufacturing at 66.6 percent.

    The bank also stated, the numbers are in accordance to answers to the bank’s business tendency survey from domestic entities functioning in the production industry.
