    Turkish state boron exports hit USD1B in this year

    (MENAFN) According to the Turkish energy minister statement on Tuesday, the country exported 2.5 million tons of boron items during this year.

    Fatih Donmez stated at an event organized at Eti Mine Works, a government-owned firm, "we made a record figure of USD1 billion from boron sales."

    The official mentioned, the country has a 62 percent stake in the sale of boron internationally. The metal is employed commercially in the production of glass, ceramics, detergents as well as fertilizers.

    Donmez also stated, a boron carbide factory is going to be launched in the nation towards the end of the upcoming year, signaling a breakthrough in the industry.

    He added, "we are in the process of signing a contract for a ferro boron production facility with an annual capacity of 800 tons in Balikesir. We will breakground for the facility in 2022."
