    Over half to UAE citizens aim to go cashless by next two years

    (MENAFN) Based on a new report by Visa, over half of the UAE citizens who were surveyed aim to be cashless within two years in comparison to the international median of 41 per cent.

    the survey also demonstrated that over two-thirds (68 per cent) of the surveyed individuals in the country stated that they cancelled an acquisition in the last few months since digital payments were not accepted by the merchant.

    According to the FinTech company, the Covid-19 pandemic, which assisted the change to online payments and shopping in the country, led to lasting changes in consumer practices.

    Over 94 per cent of clients in the UAE stated that they are going to remain using the digital payment channels as much as, or over, in 2021.
