    Turkish major stock index starts Tuesday’s session with same value

    (MENAFN) The Turkish major stock index started Tuesday’s session at 1,998.55 points, increasing by 0.97 points, or 0.05 percent, from the last ending.

    The BIST 100 index jumped by 2.77 percent, to end Monday’s session at 1,997.58 points, with an everyday exchanging volume of 27.3 billion Turkish liras (USD2 billion).

    The US dollar/Turkish lira trade rate jumped to 13.5990 on 9.30 a.m. domestic time (0630GMT), from 13.5830 at Monday's ending.

    The euro/lira trade rate soared a tad to 15.5300 from 15.5220, whereas a British pound exchanged for 18.3960 liras, dropping from 18.4030 at the previous ending. Brent crude oil sold for about USD92.60 for one barrel on 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT)
