    Turkey’s major stock index registers losses on Wednesday

    (MENAFN) The Turkish major stock index Borsa Istanbul ended Wednesday’s trading session with losses, dropping by 0.26 percent to 2,183.10 points.

    BIST 100 index opened the day at 2,198.89 points, the stock index plummeted 5.71 points from Tuesday's ending of 2,188.81 points.

    Throughout Wednesday's exchanging, the BIST 100 soared between 2,170.41 and 2,203.66 points, 39 stocks on the index jumped, 54 plunged, and seven remained at the same value in comparison to the last ending.

    Ending the day with a market worth of about 1.8 trillion Turkish liras (USD120 billion), the benchmark index registered an everyday exchanging volume of 33 billion Turkish liras (USD2.2 billion).
