    Turkey’s exports, imports witnesses 24 percent, 35 percent increase annually

    (MENAFN) In line with official statistics issued on Tuesday, Turkey’s exports and imports witnessed a yearly increase of 24.6 percent and 35 percent to stand at USD23.3 billion and USD29.4 billion, individually.

    Imports, apart from energy outputs and non-monetary gold, reached USD21.2 billion with a 16.4 percent increase in May.

    The ratio of intermediate goods, capital goods as well as consumption goods in entire imports stood at 81.6 percent, 10.8 percent and 7.4 percent, individually.

    External exchange volume amounted to USD44 billion with a 19.6 percent rise.

    The biggest nation for Turkey’s imports was Russia reaching USD5.4 billion, shadowed by China at USD3.2 billion, Germany at USD2.8 billion in addition to Italy with USD1.7 billion.

    The foreign exchange shortage increased by 98.5 percent to USD6.1 billion in April against the same month in 2021.
