    Turkey’s yearly inflation reaches 78.6pct last month

    (MENAFN) The nation’s statistical authority stated on Monday that Turkey’s yearly inflation rate stood at 78.62 percent last month.

    In line with the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) the consumer price index witnessed a surge of 4.95 percent on a month-on-month basis.

    An Anadolu Agency's study expected that the consumer price index would increase 4.44 percent last month, whereas the investors studied outlook yearly inflation would jump to 77.74 percent.

    The worst yearly rise was in the communication area with 23.74 percent.

    The clothing and footwear sector came second with 26.99 percent, education third with 27.76 percent, as well health forth with 39.34 percent.

    The biggest yearly increases were witnessed in transportation with 123.37 percent, food and non-alcoholic beverages with 93.93 percent, and furnishings and household equipment with 81.14 percent.

    Turkey witnessed a 73.5 percent yearly hike in consumer costs two months ago.
