    Erdogan reaches agreement with Putin to establish natural gas hub in Turkey

    (MENAFN) Turkey is going to be a natural gas center after reaching agreement with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan asserted on Wednesday.

    “Turkey will be a hub for natural gas as well. In our last meeting, we agreed with (Russian President Vladimir) Putin on this issue. We will create a hub here with Turkish gas coming from Russia,” Erdogan stated at the Justice and Development (AK) Party's group conference in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

    “And in his own words, Putin announced to the world that 'Europe can get its natural gas from Turkey,” the Turkish leader also mentioned.

    Erdogan note that worries are growing in Western nations due to energy crises, also pointing out that Turkey “does not have such a problem.”

    Last week, on the offshoots of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia conference in the capital of Kazakh, Astana, Erdogan hosted a closed-door gathering with Putin, who had offered establishing a natural gas center in Turkey.
