    Turkey’s shares surge to end Tuesday at new peak

    (MENAFN) Turkey’s main share index surged by 0.66 percent for a record high end of 4,360.28 points on Tuesday.

    After opening the day at 4,356.37 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 28.62 points from Monday's end of 4,331.66 points.

    The index also recorded an intraday peak of 4,412.18 points throughout Tuesday.

    The overall market value of the BIST 100 was nearly 3.5 trillion Turkish liras (USD188.2 billion) by end, with a day-to-day exchange volume of 121 billion liras (USD6.5 billion).

    International benchmark Brent crude sold at USD97.82 a barrel as of 10.01 AM local time (0701 GMT) for a 0.10 percent decline from the ending price of USD97.92 per barrel in the prior exchange session.

    The American benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) sold at USD91.60 a barrel at the same period, a 0.21 percent fall following the prior session ended at USD91.79 per barrel. While, One ounce of gold sold at USD1,709.95 at 18.20 PM regional time (1520GMT).
