    Turkey sees 27.8 percent jump in new firm openings in 2022

    (MENAFN) The figure of newly constructed firms in Turkey rose 27.8 percent on a yearly basis last year (2022), as shown by figures issued by the nation’s top trade body on Friday.

    An overall of 140,229 additional firms were established in 2022, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) data indicated.

    Between them were 20,135 foreign-joined or foreign-funded firms, signifying a massive surge from 13,445 two years ago (2021).

    An amount of 23,170 firms went out of business in 2022, which indicate a 42.8 percent rise from the prior year (2021).

    In December, the figure of firms set up in Turkey saw a rise of 53.8 percent on a year on year basis to stand at 15,034.

    These involved 1,539 additional foreign-partnered or foreign-funded firms, surging from 1,186 a year before.

    An amount of 4,569 firms went out of business in December, a yearly climb of 20.1 percent, as shown by TOBB data.
