Algeria issues visas on arrival to boost tourism industry
(MENAFN) In an attempt to grow its tourism industry, Algeria is going to release visas on arrival to tourists coming to its south, a document from the nation’s Interior Ministry indicated.
The action targets to regain its tourism sector, which like additionally nations was massively impacted by the coronavirus disease epidemic, by lowering red tape and easing visitors aiming to discover the nation’s beauty.
Algeria is Africa’s largest nation by surface area. It includes a massive share of the Sahara such as nature reserves as well as prehistoric sites. It also claims 1,200 km of the Mediterranean coastline in addition to many historical towns.
But the North African nation welcomes far lower tourists than its bordering nations, Morocco and Tunisia, relying instead on its vast oil and gas incomes.
The Tassili reserve, in the southeastern governorate of Djanet, is one main point, with sand dunes, mountains, on top of a wealth of birdlife and fauna, ranging across 138,000 sq. km.
