Iranian Energy Minister: Significant Growth in Export of Technical, Engineering Services to Iraq
(MENAFN) Energy Minister of Iran, Ali-Akbar Mehrabian, has announced that the export of technical and engineering services to Iraq has grown significantly in recent years. Mehrabian made the statement during a press conference following a meeting with the Iraqi Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fazel, in Baghdad on Friday. The Energy Minister pointed out that there have been significant exchanges in the electricity industry between the two countries. Capable Iranian companies have built power plants in Iraq, and negotiations have been held on a range of technical and engineering services, including maintenance and repair of power plants, and network development.
Mehrabian also highlighted the common issues between the two neighboring countries of Iran and Iraq regarding water and electricity industries and the many exchanges that have taken place in this field. He emphasized the long history of electricity exchanges between the two countries and noted that the capacities of electricity exchange have increased today.
Mehrabian, who is the head of the Regional Center on Urban Water Management (RCUWM), affiliated with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), arrived in Baghdad on Friday to participate in Iraq's Third International Water Conference.
