IRISL Launches Container Shipping Line to Enhance Trade with Syria

(MENAFN) The Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) has recently announced the establishment of a container shipping line with Syria, aimed at facilitating the transportation of non-oil goods between the two nations. Under this initiative, a ship will be dedicated to carrying Iran's exports to Syria on a monthly basis, as reported by IRIB.

In a statement, IRISL stated that for the current year, a regular program has been set in motion to ship cargo to Syria. As part of this program, at least one sea voyage per month has been planned to transport Iranian goods to the Arab country. The introduction of a consistent shipping schedule is expected to strengthen trade ties and promote economic cooperation between Iran and Syria.

Last year, IRISL successfully completed 14 voyages to Syria, delivering a total of 6,522 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) of non-oil goods to the nation. Building on this achievement, IRISL aims to sustain and expand its shipping operations to Syria in the current year, providing a reliable and efficient means of transporting Iranian exports.

In light of the new shipping line, Iranian businesses interested in exporting their products to Syria are encouraged to collaborate with IRISL's container shipping department. Through coordinated efforts, exporters can leverage the national shipping fleet of the Islamic Republic of Iran to transport their goods to Syria, capitalizing on the enhanced trade facilitation opportunities offered by the dedicated container shipping service.

The launch of the container shipping line between Iran and Syria reflects the commitment of both countries to bolstering bilateral trade and deepening economic ties. By establishing a regular and reliable transport route, Iran aims to foster greater commercial engagement and facilitate the export of its non-oil products to Syria. This initiative is expected to contribute to the economic development of both nations, opening up new avenues for cooperation and promoting mutual prosperity.

With the dedicated shipping line, Iranian exporters can benefit from improved logistics and transportation infrastructure, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of their goods to the Syrian market. The initiative also serves as a testament to the enduring strength of diplomatic and economic relations between Iran and Syria, as both countries work together to overcome logistical challenges and create favorable conditions for trade expansion.
