    Iran targets gas production hike in South Pars

    (MENAFN) Iran is targeting a boost in the gas output at South Pars to reach 630 million cubic metres per day by mid-March.

    SHANA reported the plan, noting that the current gas production at the biggest gas field in the world is 580 million cubic metres.

    Pars Oil and Gas Company managing director Mohammad Meshkinfam reportedly stated: "Iran currently extracts 580 million cubic metres a day from South Pars."

    The official added: "with the realisation of expansion plans, this figure will increase to a new record of 630 million by the end of the (Iranian) year (March 20)."
